WATCH: 'The Simpsons' honors David Letterman with updated couch gag
“The Simpsons” paid tribute to David Letterman with a special ‘couch gag’ opening on Sunday.
Last week, the legendary host announced his retirement, so the long-running animated series opened its show by replaying a 2012 gag in which the Simpsons rush to Letterman’s theater in New York to take a seat on their famous sofa.
But the bit had a new ending, with a title card reading, “We’ll miss you, Dave.”
