WATCH: Beyonce and Jay Z's explosive 'Run' trailer
(Yahoo!) - Just call them Bonnie and Clyde with a lot of A-list pals.
A little over a month before the start date of their On The Run Tour, Beyoncé and Jay Z released a new video trailer on Saturday titled "Run."
The unexpected mini-movie stars Bey and Jay as a couple of black-masked bandits, who've encountered several shady characters played by the likes of Sean Penn, Jake Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, Don Cheadle, Rashida Jones, her sister Kidada Jones, and "Scandal's" Guillermo Diaz. On the other side of the law, Emmy Rossum plays a police officer that chases down the caper couple.
The nearly four-minute trailer is backed by Hova's track "Part II (On the Run)," but does have some speaking parts, mostly from Blake Lively and Sean Penn offering up advice to their counterparts about the gangster life. At one point Lively asks the "Partition" singer, "what happens when it hits the fan?" and then follows up with the advice, "it's not you."
The video wasn't short on special effects, either. The Melina Matsoukas-directed trailer features car crashes, bullets flying, a bank heist, explosions, and a couple sexy scenes between the longtime lovers.
The one ironic portion of the film however is a scene with the pair dressed in white with black masks riding in an elevator together. We assume this snippet was shot long before their now-infamous elevator scuffle with Bey's sister, Solange, which blew up the Internet last week, but it was a comical comparison to their Met Ball meltdown.
Sadly, their new movie won't be coming to a theater near you. At the end of the video, "Coming Never" rolls across the screen along with a credit to Hova's RocNation label, indicating that the masterpiece is simply being used to drum up buzz for their upcoming tour, which kicks off on June 25 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.
