But, if you're splurging, Retailmenot.com editor Trae Bodge says their survey reveals what's hot.
Traditional gifts for women -- flowers, candies, jewelry -- remain really popular.
Men want tech gifts.
But, new in this year's survey was a sex question.
Bodge says given the choice 57 percent of men surveyed say they'd prefer sex over a gift, while 70 percent of women say they'd prefer a gift over sex.
