Shakira is unveiling a new music video for the single "Empire." The clip debuted early this week, just as her new self-titled album saw its official release.
The video begins with the star dressed in a white wedding gown walking down a church aisle. She stops in her tracks and runs in the opposite direction as the song picks up. Her long veil also catches fire as she poses on the church's steps. Shakira spends the rest of the video in rock 'n roll mode, belting out "Empire" inside a destroyed building. She appears entirely alone in the clip, apparently making good on the promise she said she made to her boyfriend Gerard Pique to not shoot with male models.
Shakira's new album seems to be getting a solid sales start as well. It hit number one on U.S. iTunes charts hours after its release, and took the top spot in 60 other countries as well.
