Officials announced the phone signed by the singer fetched nearly $117,000 in an auction on eBay. The funds will benefit police programs through the LAPD foundation.
Police Commissioner Steve Soboroff says the winner of the auction kindly donated the phone to the museum for public display.
Rihanna apparently dropped Soboroff's cell phone after taking a selfie with him at a Los Angeles Clippers game.
