Red Sox Announcer Loses Tooth Mid-Broadcast: ‘I’m Not a Dentist’
The most exciting thing to happen at Fenway recently has nothing to do with the Red Sox’ woeful performance.
Rather, it was color commentator Jerry Remy losing a tooth in the middle of a broadcast Wednesday night. “This is a first,” fellow announcer Don Orsillo said. “I’d just go with it. I wouldn’t waste an off day on a tooth.”
Despite claiming to be a “baseball announcer, not a dentist,” Orsillo did try to put the tooth back in.
In the midst of this discussion, the Cubs — the Cubs! — hit a two-run homer, which about sums up the Sox’ season.
