#PureSilliness: Ellen Page renames all the dogs on the internet
(Yahoo!) - Ellen Page is doggone obsessed with pet names.
The X-Men: Days of Future Past has brought her apparent favorite pastime — renaming dogs! — to Twitter. And while the 27-year-old merely started doing it for fans, some other celebrities, including Lena Dunham and Kate Mara, were brought in on the action, too.
Here's the tweet that started it all:
I love renaming my friends dogs like a total jerk.

Some were even given celeb names:

The fun wasn't limited to pooches. She also renamed a cat:

And a shark. Well, sorta:
Page then randomly offered up name suggestions for Kate Mara's dogs:

And Lena Dunham asked to get in on the action, submitting a photo of her adopted dog, Lamby, in bed with her boyfriend, Fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff.

After two days of this taking over her Twitter feed, Page admitted that things seem to have spiraled out of control. Late Tuesday night she posted:
Guys, I don't know how to stop this
— Ellen Page (@EllenPage) April 23, 2014
Well, we hope it never stops. We agree with Anna Kendrick — looking at dog pix and giving them silly names? This is exactly what the internet is for. Carry on, friend.
