Not Guilty Plea For Wrong-Way Driver
The self-proclaimed "pot princess" entered a not guilty plea in Broward County court Tuesday morning, as she was arraigned on charges of DUI manslaughter and vehicular manslaughter.
Kayla Mendoza, 21, is accused in the wrong-way crash on the Sawgrass Expressway that killed two 21-year-old women.
Mendoza's blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit at the time of the crash.
She was driving the wrong way on the Sawgrass when she slammed into a car carrying Kaitlyn Nicole Ferrante and Marisa Caran Catronio, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Mendoza has said she does not recall the accident.
