Who doesn’t love the classic movie Mrs.Doubtfire!? Fox 2000 is currently working on making a sequel to the 1993 comedy that will bring Robin Williams and Chris Columbus back together. According to the Hollywood Reporter it is unknown if Williams will be dawning the wig glasses and floral dress again or what the sequel will be like. The original Mrs.Doubtfire was released 21 years ago. The original children from the movie are all grown up now, Mara Wilson who played the youngest daughter has already retired from acting. She tweeted “I’ve been in some mediocre movies, but I’ve never been in a sequal. And I have no interest in being in one now.” She also wrote, "I'm glad I had the chance to be in it, and I'm proud of what we did, but I don't see how we could do it again," then she added, "There are many, many reasons I don't want to be in Mrs. Doubtfire 2. But they haven't even asked me (yet), so no need to worry."
Sequels generally suck unless they were planned as part of a trilogy or series. I think Doubtfire ended where it needed to end.
