Miley Cyrus is responding to a high school fan who went viral last week with a video asking the star to be his prom date.

The singer tweeted the young man, Matt Peterson from Arizona, letting him know she won't be able to attend the dance. But she let the teen down easy, asking him to come to her Phoenix concert later this month and hang out with her backstage instead.

She tweeted "Don't forget a corsage," along with a kissing emoticon. Peterson seemed pleased by her invitation, tweeting that it was "the best day of [his] whole entire life." In his YouTube video, Peterson reminded her of their previous meeting in 2009 and asked her to prom with nothing but a foam finger in one hand and red roses in the other. The video has over 400-thousand hits.
