Justin Bieber's 'Baby' becomes most-watched VEVO video of all time

Baby, baby, baby, oh!

Amidst media-fueled controversy, Justin Bieber‘s career hits another notable milestone. Remember his “Baby” music video, featuring Ludacris, from 2010? After fans rallied their support last week, the clip has vaulted over one billion views on VEVO, the only video to do so in history!

“Baby” was the song that made him a household name, and he is the youngest artist to have a video go 10x certified, just in time for his 20th birthday this Saturday, March 1. Talk about the perfect birthday present!

Of course, this pop track isn’t the Biebs’ only certified video: “Never Say Never,” “One Time,” “Somebody To Love,” “Never Let You Go,” “One Less Lonely Girl,” “Love Me” have all garnered over 100 million views and were part of the inaugural class of VEVO Certified when the program launched in June 2012. Of course, the singer’s passionate Beliebers didn’t stop there. His other certified videos include “Mistletoe,” “Boyfriend,” “Beauty and a Beat” and “As Long As You Love Me,” totaling up to 11.

This new achievement is only a footnote in Bieber’s long resume. With the 2013 release of his Believe Acoustic, he became the first-ever artist to earn five No. 1 albums before his 19th birthday. It moved 211,000 copies first-week and was also No. 1 on iTunes in 60 countries. As an added bonus, that same album made him only the 10th act to earn a No. 1 album in four consecutive years. Other artists in that exclusive club include Jay Z (seven years), the Beatles (six years) and Paul McCartney and Wings (five years apiece).

Bieber’s worldwide sales currently stand at over 15 million.
