Jennifer Lopez To Star In NBC Show "Shades Of Blue"

The singer and actress has signed on to be the executive producer and star of an upcoming cop drama called "Shades of Blue."

 

NBC has already given the show a 13-episode, straight-to-series order and is reportedly planning to premiere it in the Fall 2015 line-up. Lopez will take on lead character Harlee McCord, a single mother and detective who is tapped by the FBI for their anti-corruption task force. In an attempt to redeem herself for past misconduct, Harlee is forced to work undercover against the close-knit unit of cops who've become her extended family.

NBC Entertainment President says the network is "delighted" to be working with Jennifer and know the star will "create this complicated character in a vivid way that will breathe new life into the cop show genre."
