(Yahoo!) - There's a baby on board for Chelsea Clinton.
Clinton, 34, daughter of former president Bill Clinton and former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton, announced she was pregnant on Thursday.
“I just hope that I will be as good a mom to my child and hopefully children as my mom was to me,” the former first daughter said while speaking at an event for the Clinton Foundation’s No Ceilings: The Full Participation Project, which seeks to empower women globally. "I certainly feel all the better whether it's a girl or a boy that she or he will grow up in world filled with so many strong female leaders."
Hillary Clinton, who was in attendance, added that she is "really excited" to welcome her first grandchild. Bill Clinton tweeted his excitement as well.

— Bill Clinton (@billclinton) April 17, 2014According to reports, Clinton's husband, Marc Mezvinsky, watched from the back of the room during the reveal.
This will be the first child for both Clinton and Mezvinsky, who married in 2010. They are expecting the baby "later this year."

"The answer was just a visceral no,” Chelsea told Fast Company. “Not because I had made any conscientious, deliberate decision, but since people had been asking for as long as literally I could remember, it was no.”
However, there is an instance where that "no" could be a "yes."
"I live in a city and a state and a country where I support my elected representatives," she explained. "If at some point that weren't the case, and I didn't support my mayor or my city councilwoman or my congresswoman or either of my senators — and I'm lucky to live in a state where I have lots of women representing me, you know — maybe then I'd have to ask and answer the question for myself, and come to a different answer.”
Until then, we're guessing she's focused on her first pregnancy.
