Big Sean calls off engagement to Naya Rivera
(Yahoo!) - Rapper Big Sean and "Glee" star Naya Rivera have ended their engagement after six months.
Sean, 26, issued a statement explaining that the decision did not result from a recent tabloid report that he had cheated.
"After careful thought and much consideration, Sean has made the difficult decision to call the wedding off," his rep told Us Weekly. "The recent rumors and accusations reported by so called or fake sources are simply untrue. Sean wishes Naya nothing but the best and it is still his hope that they can continue to work through their issues privately. We will not be commenting again on this matter."
The couple first came into contact on Twitter.
"I had followed him and he sent me a little message like, 'I'm a fan.' I tweeted that I followed him, I was trying to get his attention," she told "Access Hollywood" in September. "We went to dinner and the rest is history."
The week after their engagement, Rivera was photographed visiting bridal designer Monque Lhuillier's boutique in Los Angeles. By late March, Rivera noted that she was "very deep" into planning.
"Everybody is involved. Even [my publicist] is involved," she told People.
The marriage would have been the first for both.
