Are Kim and Kanye getting married in Italy?
On guard! The wedding of the year is set to take place at a 16th century fortress. How’s that for privacy!
A source revealed to People Magazine that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will marry at the breathtaking Forte di Belvedere in Florence – a huge 16th century fortress once used to protect the city in battle.
The fort, which reopened to the public in 2013 after five years of renovations, is known for its sweeping panoramas and the fabulous contemporary art exhibitions it hosts. Reports in the Italian media on Friday also pegged Belvedere as the wedding site.
While many of us thought Paris would be the site of their nuptials, the sneaky couple has pulled a fast one and has changed locations, perhaps after they could not secure their first choice, the Palace of Versailles.
The popular couple is allegedly spending some 300,000 euros to rent the property on the weekend of May 24. The festivities could begin with a dinner in Paris, with the guests being flown to Italy later for the nuptials.
West has spent “several days” in Florence this week, says a source, and has been meeting with Ermanno Scervino at the Italian designer’s atelier. That has fueled speculation that the bride or groom, or both, will wear his designs. (Both have donned Scervino fashions in the past, and Kim memorably stepped out in a lace Scervino creation in Las Vegas in October while celebrating her 33rd birthday.)
