And The 'Dancing With The Stars' Season 18 Winner Is…
Meryl Davis is the latest celebrity to capture the "Dancing With the Stars" mirrorball trophy. The Olympic ice dancer earned the hardware on Tuesday night's season 18 finale of the ABC reality show. But while Meryl was the "star" she gave the spotlight to partner Maks, who marked his first win after 14 seasons in the competition.
Meryl and Maks were one of the top contenders all throughout the run. They led the way into Tuesday's finale, and ended with a perfect score of 90 for their finale dances.
Paralympic snowboarder Amy Purdy finished in the runner-up spot. She and her partner, and her partner, Derek Hough, were just one point behind Meryl on the leaderboard, with a judges' score of 89. Former "Full House" star Candace Cameron Bure said she was thrilled to take third place, adding that being in the finale was a victory to her.
The two-hour finale also featured memories and performances from the other season 18 contenders. Singer and actor James Maslow, who was eliminated in fourth place Monday night, received the encore request.
A number of musical performances were also peppered in throughout the night, Amber Riley, Ariana Grande, Christina Perri, and returning season 18 contender Cody Simpson also provided musical moments to the show.
