The singer reached the milestone over the weekend, and can currently tweet to a staggering 50.1 million fans.
Perry marked the occasion by writing:
As it happens, Perry’s boyfriend John Mayer just rejoined Twitter after a couple of years’ absence — even giving Perry a “Follow Friday” boost.
He’s got a ways to go to match Perry’s follower base.
Justin Bieber, with 49.3 million followers, should be the next social media sensation to pass the 50M milestone.
