Matt Damon faked a meltdown on late-night TV in on Thursday night when a fire alarm cut short his interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
The actor, who has been the butt of host Jimmy Kimmel’s jokes for years, sat on a baby chair as the comedian and his The Monuments Men castmates poked fun at his acting talents and as the show came to an end, he lashed out at the funny man for not directing a question to him.
Kimmel said, “What’s your problem? How’s that for a question?” and then added, “Alright, you’ve worked with a lot of directors… What is it like to work under a director who is your friend, like George Clooney?”
As Damon started to answer, the studio’s fire alarm sounded, red lights flashed and Kimmel urged everyone to leave the theatre, ushering out his guests as the Bourne Identity star protested.
The actor, who took over the show a year ago and tied Kimmel to a chair as he interviewed stars like Demi Moore and Gary Oldman, yelled, “It’s not a real fire… There’s nothing on fire… I’m not leaving. I came here to talk about The Monuments Men… This is obviously a trick.”
